Lights Off
Do you ever wonder why you can’t fall asleep at night? Do you need the T.V. on to fall asleep? Are there blinking lights or digital clocks shooting their bright red or neon green figures at you? Well did you know that darkness/light affect our circadian rhythm? According to Mark’s Daily Apple, “light or lack there of affects our circadian rhythm”. It isn’t strange that we get sleepy when night fall approaches. Through evolution, us humans and creatures alike decide that day time means food. Through cultural cues, we wake up when daylight is present. Now referring to your sleep, light disrupts your sleeping habits. Your physiology isn’t smart enough to recognize it’s only your blog or the TV; it mistakes it for daylight - they’re the same shit. There’s theory going around that sleeping with the light on affects melatonin production & insufficient melatonin production may lead to cancer! (then again.. what doesn’t lead to cancer). Anyway - picture yourself in a hotel room and how easily you fall asleep in the pitch black. Try making your room resemble that of a hotel room, dark and clean. You may find yourself more rested in the morning, I know I do.
LOL haha I just find this picture funny.
